How The Sales Office Group Works

From the first customer conversation to the final quotation, our sales operation manages the process — identifying requirements, connecting them with the right members and following opportunities through.

1. We Prospect

Our SDRs identify and contact businesses within the zone, creating a consistent pipeline of potential customer relationships.

2. We Book

Face-to-face customer meetings are booked for our sales team.

3. We Meet

Our salesperson meets the customer to understand their business, existing suppliers, upcoming projects and current or future requirements.

4. We Identify

Commercial requirements identified during those conversations are matched to the relevant categories represented within The Sales Office Group.

5. Members Quote

Requests for quotation are issued to the appropriate member businesses, giving them the opportunity to quote for relevant work.

6. We Follow Up

Our team manages the commercial follow-up, chases quotations and continues progressing the opportunity with the customer.

And then we keep going

The objective is not a single transaction. We continue developing customer relationships so that future projects, renewals and requirements can create new opportunities across different member categories.

One Meeting Can Create More Than One Opportunity

A customer meeting isn't focused on selling one individual product or service. Our sales team looks at the wider needs of the business. A conversation about one requirement can uncover others, creating opportunities across several different member categories from the same customer relationship.

More Services. More Reasons to Talk

The broader our member network becomes, the more requirements our sales team can identify within each customer relationship — creating opportunities across different member categories.

One Relationship. Opportunities Over Time.

Customer requirements don't all happen at once. Contracts expire, equipment needs replacing, new projects begin and business needs change. By maintaining the customer relationship, our sales team can continue identifying relevant requirements long after the first meeting.

We Don't Start From Zero Every Time

As our customer network grows, our sales operation is doing two things at the same time — building new customer relationships and continuing to develop the relationships we already have. That means future projects, renewals and changing business requirements can create new opportunities for members over time.

We don't build a customer relationship for one opportunity. We build it so we're there when the next requirement arises

What Happens When We Find an Opportunity?

When a customer requirement matches a category represented within the Group, we manage the process from identifying the requirement through to commercial follow-up. Our members can concentrate on providing the right solution and quotation while our sales team continues managing the customer relationship.

1. Requirement Identified

Our sales team identifies a genuine product, service, project or renewal requirement during an existing customer relationship.

2. RFQ Issued

We send the relevant information and request for quotation to the appropriate member businesses within that category.

3. Member Quotes

The member reviews the requirement and provides their quotation, technical information or any additional information needed.

4. We Follow Up

The Sales Office Group manages the commercial follow-up with the customer, chases outstanding information and helps keep the opportunity moving.

5. Customer Decides

The customer reviews the available solution and quotation and makes their commercial decision.

We Stay Involved

We manage the RFQ process, follow up quotations and maintain the customer relationship throughout the commercial conversation. Whatever the outcome of an individual opportunity, the relationship continues.
